Day 95 - 2 Samuel 23-24

  1. The heroes broke through enemy ranks to fulfill David's wish. He then refuses to drink that for which men's lives have been endangered. The number of mighty men is given as 37 but only 32 are listed. We do not know why Yahweh is angry. Satan is charged as the author of sin. Why a military census should be recognized as sin is not clear. David repents and accepts famine or pestilence as punishment. Pestilence kills 70,000. The purchase of the threshing floor of Araunah is important because it will become the site of the temple.
