Day 91 - 2 Samuel 14-15

  1. David discovers that Joab is the angel of God (language of Zech 12:8) who wins the case for bringing Absalon to his own house. Absalon remains two years. But the fact that he has to stay away from the court, prompts revenge. He sets Joab's barley field on fire. Absalom plans to take over the throne by claming that he is more interested in the common man than his father. When the coup is attempted four years later, David flees from Jerusalem. Ahithophel defects, but another wise man, Hushai, becomes David's loyal friend. Hushai is to return to Jerusalem and pledge false allegiance to Absalom to uncover the overthrow plot.
