Day 90 - 2 Samuel 12-13

Day 90 - 2 Samuel 12-13

  1. David needs no punishment for sin. He has three teenage sons, Amnon, Absalom, and Adonijah all of whom will be murdered for rape or an attempt to usurp the throne. The child of the adulterous union must die and does. David and Bathsheba's second child, Solomon, is the signal that David has atoned for his sin. Amnon rapes his half sister, Tamar. She is no longer eligible for marriage. Absalon, her brother, orders his servants to kill Amnon. Joab devises a way to make David do what is in his heart to do through a wise woman of Tekoa. She tells David a fictitious story. Here we learn that Yahweh is not interested in vengeance but rather in having the exiled son return.
