  1. The Isrealites are to celebrate three agricultural feasts-feast of unleavened bread, feast of weeks and the feast of booths. "Justice, and only justice you shall follow." Again, they are required to give up Caananite ways"You shall not plant any tree as a Asherah" Baal worship"you shall not set up a pillar". Judges and priests are to deal with the cases of homicide. They set up a king with restrictions."He must not multiply horses for himself, wives for himself, nor silver." The king was to rule according to Levitical law. And "the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet". They are told to set up three cities which will be sanctuaries for those seeking refuge. The nomads move from tribal life to a highly structured community life with judges, priests, kings, and prophets.
