Day 25: Exodus 28-30

Day 25: Exodus 28-30

1 comment:

  1. Chapters 28-30 seem to be a collision of Arabic and Egyptian priesthood and Canaanite art. Man now needs an intermediary to God.
28:30 "thus Aaron shall bear the judgment of the people of Israel upon his heart before the Lord continually."
The nomads seem to know that blood has something to do with life. And, in an attempt to connect with Life they smear blood on everything.
29:21 "then you shall take part of the blood that is on the altar..."
In an effort to get back that Divine connection it seems that atonement takes on new meaning.
30:10 "Aaron shall make atonement upon its horns once a year..."
I feel a little sad here to see humans handing over their voice to that of priests. Is this the beginning of low self-esteem?
