The beginning of holy war. 18:19 "You shall represent the people before God" Moses is becoming an intermediary between the people and God. 19:4 "You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings" Sounds like Isaiah and a liturgical hymn. It seems to me that the Hebrews, in response to what Yahweh had done for them, considered themselves God's chosen ones. Now as God's chosen how do we live? The answer is spelled out in the ten commendments.
