Day 16: Genesis 48-50

Day 16: Genesis 48-50

  1. 50:3 "And the Egyptians wept for him seventy days." Again the number seventy is important. And I can't help but wonder about a Hebrew having an Egyptian funeral.

50:20 "As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good..." Now that dad is gone and Joseph can take revenge on his brothers we are reminded that God takes whatever choices we make a turns them toward good. Life turns out in spite of ourselves.

Genesis, in general, to me was all about the meaning of life, the big questions- who is God and what is humankind's relationship to this diety, and what about other cultures view of the Infinite.
