Day 298 Luke 8-9

Day 298 Luke 8-9

1 comment:

  1. It is in this chapter that the disciples are afraid and Jesus calms the storm. How many times are we afraid for appropriate reasons? Most of the time, we are afraid without real justification. This is also the chapter where Jesus casts out demons. “My name is Legion; for we are many…” Am I not possessed at time by Legion? My personality is torn to pieces by conflicting interests and drives and I listen to the continual chatter of the committee in my mind. In chapter 9 only Luke tells us that the Transfiguration took place while Jesus was praying. It is like Luke to lay stress upon the importance of prayer to Jesus. In this chapter also, Jesus “set his face to go to Jerusalem”. These words suggest that Jesus accepted his fate without flinching or vacillating. Would that I do the work of Jesus with such resolve and commitment!
