Day 356 2 Peter 1-3

Day 356 2 Peter 1-3

  1. The author is disturbed over the threat to both the Christian ethic and doctrine by certain lawless men. The faith is in jeopardy. Aware of the passing of the original leaders of the Christian movement, this author feels a special urgency to call the church back to the purity of faith and practice that characterized its beginning. Attention should be given to Paul’s letters, since these convey the authentic gospel. A true knowledge must replace false teaching. This letter is an urgent call to devotion to the classic expression of the gospel. It is a clear voice in that period between the production of the major portions of the New Testament and the second century defenders of the faith.
