Day 351 Hebrews 5-7

Day 351 Hebrews 5-7

1 comment:

  1. Jesus, the high priest, is superior to the Levitical priests. The Levitical priesthood, according to the author, is inadequate, because it is provisional and temporary. Unlike the Levitical priests, Jesus was appointed with a divine oath; furthermore, being immortal Jesus holds his priesthood permanently. “He has no need, like those high priest, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself.” Jesus is now becoming surrounded with a philosophy and theology. I wonder what Jesus would have thought about this sequence of events?
