The unknown author of Hebrews moves through an elaborate discussion of the superiority of Christianity to Judaism. Christ is superior to the angels, although Jesus, in his humiliation, was for a little while…lower than the angels. Christ is superior to Moses-Jesus, a son, is superior to Moses, a servant in God’s house. “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” At this point in time, obviously, Christians could not remain within Judaism. It was a time of choice. Which way would I have chosen?
