Day 264 Amos 1-3

Day 264 Amos 1-3

  1. Rev. Michael Piazza in Liberating Word says, “Amos got everyone nodding their heads as he railed against the evils of others. Then, in chapter two, he begins to turn the spotlight closer to home; first Judah(Amos 2:4-5), then Israel(Amos 2:6-3:8), and finally his real target, Samaria(Amos 3:9-4:3).” Amos introduces a dire analysis of Israel’s political fortune “they do not know how to do right,” says the Lord, “those who store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.” The consequent fate will be a few battered fragments of her material splendor, “corner of a couch and a part of a bed”.
