Day 245 Ezekiel 22-23

Day 245 Ezekiel 22-23

  1. In this chapter Ezekiel returns to Jerusalem, the guilt of the city, the lure of the city, and its needs. He alludes to the attraction of Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon who boast of their advanced civilization and superior military power. There are “governors and commanders, warriors clothed in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.” Without actually having seen these figures the Israelites admired them. The mere prestige of Babylon and the current tales of her splendor were sufficient to seduce Judah from her original allegiance. How easily do we surrender to vice and glitter of an alien civilization?
