Yahweh strives to set his people apart from the Egyptians, the Canaanites who have deified sex, and other pagan cults who gave their children "to devote them by fire to Molech". Instead, they are called to be holy, to keep the sabbath, to do no injustice. They are not to get involved with augury, witchcraft, wizards. Instead, they are to love strangers "you shall love him as yourself. Even the fruit of the land "shall be holy".
