Day 217 Isaiah 65-66

Day 217 Isaiah 65-66

  1. “I was ready to respond to those who asked me not, to be found by those who sought me not. I said: Here I am! Here I am!” A relentlessly loving God who waits! This God brings about a new people in a new world. “The things of the past shall not be remembered or come to mind. Instead, there shall always be rejoicing and happiness in what I create;” Yet these people continue to live their lives in mediocrity. They are warned that worship which is external is as evil as though it were idolatry. In spite of their lack of response Yahweh continues to bring about a New Jerusalem free from the pains of childbirth. Jerusalem is a place of a joyful begetting of a new people. We have born witness to such acts of God. Her re-creating power has not been confined to the changing of individuals. The cases of Nazism in Germany and communism in Soviet Russia are but two modern day examples of God changing corporate life and creating a new people. So ends the book of Isaiah on a happy note.
